Outreach Ministries

South Meridian is very committed to our surrounding neighborhood.  Throughout the year many opportunities are available for community involvement. Various ministry opportunities are:

Neighborhood Harvest Party
The Harvest Party happens in the fall and is a great time to serve and love God’s people.  We invite our neighbors to come to enjoy a day of fun, food and fellowship in a non-threatening environment.  God uses us to plant seeds of love in the hearts of people  He purposely brings our way.

Trunk N Treat
At Halloween we open our parking lot and trunks to the kids in our neighborhood to enjoy sweet treats, hot dogs and chips.  We’re thankful God gives us the chance to provide a safe place for kids and their families, and for us as a church to get the opportunity to build relationship with our neighbors.

Weekday Religious Education
This is an amazing opportunity we have as a church to introduce fourth graders to God as part of their regular school week.  South Meridian supports this ministry financially and provides a team who serves here during the class times.  God uses this program to reach many children who might not otherwise have a chance to learn about God.

Thanksgiving at South
South Meridian has for a couple of years now hosted a Thanksgiving Dinner for our community.  A coat giveaway takes place during this time also for those in need of warm winter coats.  All coats are donated by our congregation.  This Thanksgiving we were able to serve approximately 70 neighbors and around 60 coats were distributed.

Christmas Caroling
On a cold night as Christmas is approaching, we head out and go caroling in our community and visit shut-ins from the church.  This is a great opportunity to spread joy and say to our neighbors, “Merry Christmas,”  and ”God loves you and so do we!”
